Essential Duties & Responsibilities
We’ve listed some of the common duties and responsibilities below so that you can learn what your day will look like as one of our certified technicians.
- After receiving orders from the dispatcher, take the vehicle to the correct stall area.
- Accurately and efficiently follow all work orders, performing service and repairs in accordance with dealership standards.
- Carry out accurate diagnosis of the problem and fix it as authorized by the customer.
- Order the parts needed for service or repair from the Parts Department.
- Set aside and label parts that need to be separated for reasons of warranty or customer request.
- Let the service advisor know immediately if you have any changes to the work timeline, e.g., work is not needed, more work is needed, or work cannot be completed in the given timeframe.
- Maintain adequate documentation of the work you do.
- Make sure complaints from the customer are fully addressed through road tests.
- Make use of quality checks for work performed.
- Always attend any training classes to which you are assigned.
- Keep up-to-date on all factory technical bulletins.
- Keep the customer’s vehicle clean at all times throughout your work.
- Properly administer all housekeeping and safety procedures.
- Know, understand, and follow all state, local, federal, and other automotive service and repair regulations.
